For Rebag, adding clothing and shoes to its platform will allow the company to analyze trends within the luxury resale market and improve its technological capabilities.

“After our successful integration of watches and fine jewelry in 2020, shoes and apparel are the natural next step for us,” Charles Gorra, CEO and founder of Rebag, said in a statement. “Rebag is the expert and ultimate destination for the most coveted luxury items. We are excited to expand our horizons and offer our customers new categories to invest in. This has always been a request from both our buyers and sellers and will help us address a larger share of their resale needs.”

Before it added more products to its selection, Rebag tested out its brick-and-mortar approach and raised capital to support its physical expansion and software development. In December 2020, the resale platform opened a micro-store in New York City , where it sold fine jewelry, watches, handbags and other accessories. About a year later, the company raised $33 million with plans to enhance its Clair Technology Suite and open more stores this year.

The platform also introduced other digital tools and experiences to reach luxury resale customers. In April, the company teamed up with Moda Operandi to host a digital trunk show featuring brands like Hermès, Chanel, Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton. Later that month, the platform unveiled Rebag Auction , a tool that lets users bid for high-end goods such as Louis Vuitton bags, jewelry and timepieces.
